Privacy Policy
This site is a reference work. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into and no form to fill in, which keeps this policy shorter and plainer than most. What follows describes what actually happens when you visit, not what a template assumes.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth or any other personal detail. There are no accounts, no newsletter sign-up and no enquiry forms of ours anywhere on this site. Nothing you type is sent to us, because there is nothing of ours on the site to type into. The sponsored listing blocks are the one exception worth naming: their buttons lead to the advertiser, and anything you fill in once you get there is collected by them, not by us.
We do not sell or rent personal information, because we do not hold any to sell. We run no retargeting pixels, no social media trackers, no session recording and no heat mapping. We do run one advertising network, described below.
Analytics
This site currently runs no analytics. No Google Analytics and no analytics cookie of any kind is loaded. The advertising described below sets no cookies either, so at the time of writing this site sets no cookies at all.
We may enable privacy-respecting analytics later to count visits and see which pages are useful. If we do, this section will be updated before it goes live to name the provider, the cookies it sets and what it receives.
Advertising
Content pages carry one block of sponsored school listings, labeled Paid
Advertisement. The listings are served by Esyoh, at
esyoh.com, which is an advertising network for schools, and
this site earns a fee when a reader contacts one of them. The block is the
only third-party content on the site.
Loading it sends Esyoh the address of the page you are on, its title and its main heading, so the listings match the subject, and your IP address reaches them as part of the request, which is how the listings are matched to a rough location. They record that the block was shown and how much of it came into view. Following one of their links takes you to Esyoh first and then to the school, which is how the referral is credited.
It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. We checked this in a browser rather than taking it on trust. We do not pass Esyoh your name, your email address or anything you have typed, because we do not hold any of those. If you block the script, every listing block stays hidden and the rest of the page works exactly as it does now.
What Is Stored on Your Device
One thing, and it is not a cookie. If you use the light and dark toggle in the
header, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key
theme so the site does not flash the wrong colors the next time
you open it. That value never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
Clearing your browser storage removes it.
Server Logs
This site is served as static files by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which keeps standard access and security logs. Those logs are how any web host distinguishes a real visitor from an attack, and they are handled under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors.
Links to Schools and Other Sites
Every program on this site links out to the school's own page, and our pages cite federal sources including IPEDS and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, along with accrediting and certifying bodies such as CAHME, AUPHA, NAB, ACHE, MGMA, NAHQ and HFMA. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, subject to their privacy policy and their trackers, not ours. We have no control over and take no responsibility for what they collect.
How This Site Makes Money
This site earns a fee when readers contact schools through the sponsored listing blocks, which are labeled Paid Advertisement. Those listings are advertising: they are not scored, not ranked, and cannot affect any ranking. Rankings, accreditation status, wage data and program structure come from official records and are reported the same way whether or not a school advertises.
Worth being precise about what that means today: the links on this site are plain outbound links to schools' own pages. We do not operate lead forms and we do not pass visitor information to schools or to any advertising partner. If that ever changes, this policy and the disclosure will change with it, and the change will be dated at the top of this page.
Children
This site is written for people choosing a university degree and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them, which is straightforward here given we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your Rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA and CPRA in California, give you rights to access, correct, delete and port personal data an organization holds about you, and to object to its processing. We hold no personal data about visitors, so in practice there is nothing for us to return or erase.
The exception is any email you choose to send us. If you write to us, we hold that email in order to reply to it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. To exercise any right, or to ask what we hold, write to taylor@savogroup.com.
We share nothing with data brokers and we sell no personal information. The one thing that leaves this site is the request that loads the advertising block described above, which carries your IP address and the page you are on to Esyoh. California law treats some advertising disclosures of that kind as sharing, so if you would rather it did not happen, blocking the script stops it completely and costs you nothing else on the page. Changes to This Policy
If what we collect changes, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. The cases most likely to trigger that are enabling analytics and adding any form that submits information.
